If you are looking for a club to make normal friends, few in the metro is better than the Wayzata Yacht Club. E & I joined about three years and have gone to a club event most months. No, we do not own a boat, we are crew, we are rope pullers. That said we both go out on the water maybe once a year. Many members are on the water five times a week.

I pulled ropes (i.e. CREWED) three times in May of this year. I posted the events on ToDoTC. Being on a sailboat in fascinating. It’s in a way like Golf that your mind is SO BUSY with input and requirements that you forget the stresses you had before the day started.

And the club will bend over backwards to welcome you. Just as our MN Wine Club starts with the basics This Dark wine is RED, the Clear one we call White. The WYC club starts with THIS is WATER, THIS is LAND. We SAIL on water; we DRINK on LAND!
