It is that time of year to give back. Every year E&I buy about 40 baseballs, basketballs, soccer balls, volleyballs to donate to Toys for Tots for Christmas. Our friends Dennis & Sheila Loving realtors who work for Wayzata Coldwell Banker Realty help to organize the event. Coldwell Banker gather up and organize the toy drive then open their office the first Saturday each December for us to have a place to give. We bring two huge bags of balls, and they take care of the rest. We buy our donation from Walmart & 5 below in October, so we make sure we get enough. And we buy balls of all sizes so kids 1 to 21 girls or boy can enjoy them as maybe the only Christmas gift they get.
Years ago, I helped the Jaycees in a similar drive. We always had problems filling the 12-16 young men/women age group, we hope this will fill that void. Christmas without a toy for a 16-year-old is just as tragic as a youngster.
Wayzata Coldwell banker has wreathes and Christmas trees as a thank you gifts for us, And more importantly take care of getting our gifts where they are needed. The event is complete with pictures with Santa, cookies and other holiday treats.
