Stone Arch Bridge Festival
If you are only going to one art festival this year it should be the Stone Arch Bridge festival along the Mississippi River next to downtown Minneapolis. The festival is located between 4th Ave North and the 35W bridge over the Mississippi. The Stone Arch Bridge festival has been called the most beautiful art show in the country. And deserves that reference.
Unlike many festivals the whole thing is on one road, West River Road, with a booth on both sides of the roads. Unlike many art shows there are no sections just one long show, and we like that.
More and more we are seeing commercial vendors at the shows like Anderson Windows and a ton of things art show viewers need. They are fine at the show and helps keep prices low. Same thing with additional food truck foot options.
Parking can be a pain but there are a number of ramps in the area. We go before noon and park across the street from the Guthrie. It’s close and an easy walk. There are very few things not to like about the show. We collect garden movement art and bought a Rock goose and three goslings shown at the end of the pictures. Every year there seems to be less outdoor artists. It’s not the fault of the show but they are always interesting booths if you can get them.
They have good security, good restrooms, a clean walking area, good food and a large number of booths. It is the reasons it is perhaps the favorite art show we go to and is always on Fathers day weekend.
