Tonight we are dining at Sooki & Mimi located at Hennepin & 31st. The cuisine in Korean/ Mexican, we have looked forward to it for weeks ever since we made reservations.
Going to 40 new restaurants a year we see a lot of menu and dishes. Nope nothing rang a bell here. That said only looosers run from a challenge… we are going for it.
The Wine list was kinda small.
They had 3 reds by the glass we ordered the Barbera & Noir, both were good not great.
On the right side of the menu was almost exclusively tacos: fish, Italian beef, Pork & Veg. We ordered an Italian beef taco.
Then we ordered a trout & caper spread on hard bread. It was interesting but doubt we'd only order it again.
We had a good salad with Jacima , greens, radishes & cucumbers. Was the best thing we had.
The place is a few blocks from the lakes and is an interesting try. Would we try it again? Not really our thing.
The third item that arrived was the Italian Taco. It was basically a small soft shell taco with aus jus sauce to pour over it. It was VERY GOOD and some thing we may serve at our MN Wine Club parties.
