Sometimes E&I are a bit lost on where we should go next. Spending two weeks on the Med visiting the pyramids and new types of food everyday can slow down things a bit. Plus, I wrote reviews of the day for an hour every night.
So when we got back from Europe E said where next? I looked a bit online and saw someone said they were looking for Cheap & Unusual. That lead us to the Samarkand Restaurant.
When someone says Fine Cuisine, I immediately think on Uzbekistan… well honestly not my first couple of choices but Google thought so. So we loaded up my Explorer and after our Friday night wine tasting we went to 16 Nathan Lane N in Plymouth to Samarkand Restaurant, home of the finest Uzbekistan for in the Twin Cities.
What we found would fit the words strange in most people’s description. First of all it is located in a small strip mall in the west metro. Samarkand’s decor could best be described as a 70’s paneled disco wedding reception. Yes, complete with a single mic singer and laser lights. The food was interesting, not great but interesting.
And the bill which included 2 glasses of wine only $76.29
