Rabbit Hole
We have been putting up reviews for about ten years. We have seen many restaurants come and go. I have made it clear we go to a wine tasting every Friday Night before we go out to a new restaurant. With our wine tasting we go to most of the area wineries. On of those wineries is Schram Wineries of Waconia, we know the owner and the owner of MOST of the better local wineries. Previous to The Rabbit Hole moving in a few months ago it was a local wine tasting place owned by Schram Winery.
If you are looking for a place to take your group in the North Loop Rabbit Hole should be on your list. The Rabbit Hole is a huge sports bar with great food in the shadow of the Twins stadium on SAFE Washington Avenue in the North Loop.
We like to have reservations to go to a restaurants. Rabbit Hole does not offer reservations. That said at 7PM on a Friday night without a reservation we walked in and waited less than five minutes. Even though it is a large sports bar the food and service were both exceptional.
There is a wide variety of good food. From shrimp and fries to chicken Smamichs and burgers. They have about 30 beers, 15 on tap. They have 15 wines and a large variety of non-alcoholic drinks including a number of great non-alcoholic beers and other options. Hell, they have a bottle of Dom Perignon for $500. It is a complete bar.
It is not our traditional Friday quiet night, but it was fine. I wish some of the people we can hear across and otherwise silent restaurant would choose the Rabbit Hole instead. And this summer I’m sure we will be back for their great patio. Our bill for a couple of burgers and a couple of wines was $50.16 plus we had fun watching the men’s & ladies groups and watch new relationships being formed by exchanging numbers from the newly met that night. And it’s WALKABLE from North Loop & Spirits where we start the night. We’ll be BACK!
