Malcom Yards
If you are looking for a meeting place for one person or a group you can’t get much better than The Market At Malcom Yard.
Malcom Yards is located between the UofM Mpls Campus and 280/KSTP. The address is 501 30th St SE Mpls 55414. That is a stones throw, a couple of blocks from O’Shaughnessy Distilling & Surlys both/all three are great venues to meet people.
The beauty of Malcom Yards is huge seating areas both inside and outside. And what makes them unique is it is a food/drink mall of sorts, similar to the xxxx on Washington Ave Mpls. There is one bar to order nearly every beer in the area then NINE restaurant under one roof.
Those restaurants have a variety of types of food to fit everyone’s needs. The restaurants include Abang Yoli Asian, Bagu Sushi,Bebe Zito Ice Cream & Burgers, Delsur Tradtional Argentinian, Martes Tacos, Momo Dosa Dumplings from Nepl & Free Ceps from India, SunDay with Cheese, Charcuterie, soups & sandwich’s, and where we chose to eat Wrecktangle Pizza.
For drinks Malcom Yards has The Boxcar full service bar and an unbelievable 48 tap beer wall with ciders and beer to fit every need.
Malcom Yards have an interesting combination of ongoing events as a fun way to meet people they include: Olga, trivia, weekly workouts in addition to the outside games.
Malcom Yards have a great safe facility with great free parking. And yes it is on the train route. They are a huge place with a maximum occupancy of 695.
They take no reservations. But then it’s its open seating, did a table. One thing ty do is take your credit card number and next your age for alcohol at the front desk. You then get a Plastic Malcom Yards card to buy your food & drink. This makes it easier for everyone in our party to eat at a different restaurant and keep one bill.
It took fifteen minutes to get our pizza, which was a bit long but the place has a party atmosphere so the time went fast. The get your cell # to text you when your order is done. It is a great system.
Our pizza and Caesar Salad was good. We paid $72 for two wines, a big Caesar Salad and a Pizza including an 18% tip they added on.
Malcom Yards is an interesting place everyone should try. Makes it so much easier with a group to plot the bill, get different food and have a large safe place that you can drop in without reservations. And ye they have TVs for sports. We’ll be back.
