Gai Noi

If want a list of places we wont go it's easy. look for places with a line in front of it and we WON'T be there.

If we can't walk in or can't get reservations we simply won't go.

That is the case with Gai Noi. E is very good at keeping our reservations out four or six weeks. And I, do not know until about 5 PM Friday night where we are going. I really don't care to know.

It's always on our phones and typically someone has recommended the place so I don't worry. We don't get two bad servings of food a year. Most restaurants are great.

We have had issues with reservations. One place in downtown Wayzata told us we did not have reservations. At which E opened her messages and said then you REALLY should not be sending us messages about our reservation. Table in two…

We don't do lines for a number of reasons. Perhaps we did them in our twenties when we were around, as our son says: "The beautiful People!" But we don't now.

We, more me than E, absolutely HATE being around the LOOK AT ME crowd. Let's take a dozen more selfies of me. I haven't done that in hours. Enough said?

Besides in the metro if you go a mile in any direction you are going to get good food.

SO time to get back to my regular scheduled review.

E THOUGHT she had made reservations at Gai Noi. When we pushed through the people taking selfies in front of Gai Noi it turned out we did NOT have reservations. Where the screw-up? No one knows.

So on the same block as Gai Noi is Lucrat. Hell we already paid for parking and Lucrat is incredible, why not?

So we walked into Lucrat at. PM on a Friday night, apologized for not having reservations and as expected from the incredible people at Lucrat was told, this way to your table.

We had a great meal and wine at Lucrat. And as we were walking back to our SUV the maitre d' now having no one waiting asked if we would like a table.. we'll pass!

We hope to have a review on Gai Noi in the near future we have them on our list again in 2026 IF they are still open, which we doubt. With issues with their website and reservations we don't expect them to be open long.
