The Funk Zone
Santa Barbara has a number of unique areas. You could walk its beautiful beaches all the way past Malibu to LA. There is State street a street closed a few blocks to motorized vehicle traffic with restaurants and shops. And then there is The Funk Zone. The Funk Zone is a bunch of older buildings just in from the beach.
In the Funk Zone you will find wine tasting rooms. Shopping of all kinds from Surfboards to vintage home amenities. The only things we bought to take home we bought at the Funk Zone a hoodie and a belt. You need to accept it is eclectic both by design and price and once you get over that The Funk Zone is fine.
The entire area is about four to six blocks square. We spent an hour in the area. It was fun and interesting.
