Want to practice your golf swing in the spring. You can either pay Total golf $50 for the hour and have a burger and some drinks. Or you can spend just a few bucks at the Columbia Driving Range. A bucket of balls will cost you about 1/3 of Total Golf, but no beer.
E and I went because it’s cheaper and half the distance from our place as Total Golf AND you do not need reservations. It’s a drive-up place with no reservations required. When we went in March there was plenty of room.
The ONLY issue we had was figuring out how to get a bucket of balls to come out of the machine. I have been a programmer for decades and it took minutes to put your card in and select what size bucket of balls. And I was not the only one with that issue, most people did. And we are not thrilled about using our normal credit card in a place the bad guys can get to at 3 AM. Thus, we are always armed with our Walmart Visa which the bad guys can only get what we put in not your entire paycheck.
Anyway, Columbia is a good driving range about 4 miles from downtown on 65/Central and about 3 miles south of 694 by Fridley.
