Day three Desire

We were a waken at 5:30 AM by a bed side alarm clock that had no English on it. I start pushing buttons. Did you know what Pospida mean? In English it means snooze. You hit that button just before you hit the STOP button. We will be doing THIS AGAIN!  And after typing all the Spanish terms in we got ever fixed.

E went out for breakfast at 7 AM. Now that the sun is starting the day. We ate Arrecife where we eat yesterday. I had a ham & cheese omelet turns out it’s a ten minute wait. But all was good as usual.

We had a 10 AM time-share meeting to go to. Ended calling us in early at 9AM. We have gone through 4-5 time share and Wine-share meetings we had a clue. And with two cruises already scheduled for next year we are not good candidates. But I wanted to hear the specifics to forward to you.

The core concept is 800 room nights with priority scheduling for rooms, restaurants bookings, and access to pool side chairs and massages spas. All this for $29,000 with a full buy back at ten years. But we have no plans on spending 800 days anywhere, so we decided not to proceed.

After the sales meeting we decided to walk on the beach to the neighboring hotels.  Mexican Hotels don’t own the beach from that concept is true in a lot of places.

We saw resorts that were different than desire. Kids running around shooting squirt guns over people. People all ages and sizes running around and sunning themselves. Not quite the same picture as desire.

So after looking at the hotels we returned to Desire, glad that is where we were staying.

We walked beach back to Desire. There is a three foot beach wall between the resort and ocean. We saw a set of steps in the break in the wall. It lead to one of a dozen bars servicing about 150 people. It’s about a 10:1 ratio and all bars are about 30 seconds apart. So it’s kinda like Wisconsin.

We sat on swings in the three feet between the bar and the edge of the bar and sipped margaritas as we BS’d with the Bartender. Livin Da Dream! After one margarita we went back to see if our room was made up. It wasn’t so we went to the main pool and bar.

As were getting in the pool area we saw at pool waiter. We were hungry and asked him if we could order  some Fries. We said we’d be poolside. And just like that he said, sure I’ll find you at the pool. Fifteen minutes later fries were delivered to us at the bar for us and our new friends as we were sipping our maragaritas.

Eros one of the five restaurants over looks the pool. Wait some of the bars have a little food. Again like Wisconsin.  If you desire the evening restaurant reservation you do so at Eros the restaurant reservation area at noon. Well unless you are a PREFFERED owner then you just need to pick up the phone anytime.

Suki Asian restaurant was the only restaurant we had not eaten at in our first two days. So we went to Eros to reserve that evening meal at noon as required. We were told at Suki the previous night we needed reservations. At Eros we were told we did not need reservations for Suki. The Scheduler at Eros said no reservation was require. Oh two people with different stories, welcome to Mexico. The real answer was we needed reservation to watch the Hbatchi show at Suki. We had seen Hbatchi shows before so we just wanted to eat. The scheduler said you go tonight you be fine.

So we went back to the room and changed into Desire pool wear from beach wear. We then went to the pool bar for our second maragita for the day, hell it was almost one!  The world would be a better place if it listened to our magarita tainted world solutions. We sat poolside and solved the problems of life until about 3 when we saw people in the upper level huge hot tub.

After about two hours we came back to our room and got ready to go to Suki the oriental restaurant which we did or didn’t need reservations. We checked in at Suki about 6:30 and they asked our room number and asked if either of us had any allergies. We said no. And the maitredee respondent with I see here you are allergic to Brochli. E & I busted out laughing for I had said that in passing at some restaurant here. Isn’t Everyone allergic to brochli? I ate brochli later that seating.

The Suki oriental restaurant is a small intimate place. Turns out it was one of only two restaurants open at Desire at the time. Again a way to get people to see the same people again. It was nice.

There are two different types of seating at Suki. The normal menu seat we were at and a Hbatchi show. The reservation confusion was over getting to see the Hbatchi show. Some chef balancing an egg on a spatula then cutting it in air. Its kind of performance food art show. We had seen it before but this is something the grandkids MUST be educated on in the Twin Cities.

So back to the menu & ordering. Tonight we had the terms right so we ordered house red glassed  of Cab and Merlot. Delivered without an argument from the server and paired well. On to the menu.

E ordered a terriaki salad followed by fresh non-fried egg roles then finished with a shrimp & noodles with kakawatcus… That peanuts for those that never get to Kongs Stir fry of Roseville. I ordered raw salmon, egg rolls and cooked salmon.

Tonight again all courses would be at home at the best restaurants in the Twin Cities. My cold salmon app was served in a edible waffle ice cream cone holder all which was suspended in a bowl of dried rice. It was good.

My second course E and I both had the fresh non-fried Egg rolls were very good as E agreed. All the food was exceptionally presented.

Finally E had her shrimp and me the salmon both great entrees. We finished the fantastic meal which we completed with cheese cake and fried ice cream. Yea I know fried ice cream is not oriental but when in Mexico! We will have fried ice cream.

We returned to our room to rest for the 11 PM Disco. The Disco was something from the 70s with a dance floor lit from the bottom and spot lights and smoke from the top. Playing a non-stop beat from the 70s Power Band Bachman Turner over Drive -  Blurred Lines from Robin Thicke. It was a great party but just as 8:30 back home when our pringer wants to go to bed it was 11:30 and our bed time too. But no where on the fifty miles of cancun beach was ther more people at a better party.
