Welcome Back to the top of the food chain.

Baldamar marks the turning point where we usher in the new standard for style, service and steak. It means the menu's made with old-world craft at its core and modern day meat eaters in mind — with flavors forged in fire and folded into pure primal perfection. It's where every steak is aged 40 days and 40 nights for a taste of biblical proportion, and where crazy-fresh seafood means it was caught during your morning commute. At the bar sits every spirit imaginable, and someone who isn't afraid to use them. This is more than a new steakhouse. It's a line in the sand. It's not just where you celebrate special occasions. It's where you create them.

Our Review

Baldamar

Tonight we are at Baldamar a new steakhouse on the grounds of Rosedale mall.
Baldamar is a bit more pricey than most restaurants, steak houses usually are. It took us a month to get Friday at 7 PM reservations and with all we have heard it should be worth the wait.

Their wine list is very good: 11 whites by glass with ten grapes, 12 reds with 8 grapes. Priced $10-$19 a glass. Plus a full bar and beers.

Are waiter's name was Daryl he knew his stuff: timing food, the menus, definitely top shelf.

The Calamari comes in a Plasmic vinegar with carrots, Shallots and red peppers. A must have appetizer.

The bread basket is also a must have with three spreads. They had two whipped butters and a balsamic Vinegar to highlight the bread. The bread basket is $10 when it is free at most restaurants but worth every penny.

E ordered her usual Sonoma Cab Sav. I had a Nebbiolo both were very good. Baldamar has a two sided ledger size wine list that will match any in the metro.

The restrooms are nice with hand towels to dry ones hands, next to the door in case you have covid issues touching the handle.

If i would have one complaint it would be how quiet it is. I could here conversations from about three tables. That is common of the restaurants in the burbs. That's more of a FYI but it wasn't bad.

Our waiter Daryl asked what order we wanted our food. We absolutely hate getting everything at the same time. We got the Calamari & bread, then after 5 minutes the salad the when we finished that our Prime Rib Sammich with great Fries appeared.

Our Harvest salad was HUGE and we ordered only one to share, which we do with most things when we go out to eat. I have no idea how people eat the salads by themselves our was more then we both could eat.

We finished with the Prime Rib sandwich and sweet potato.  The Prime Rib Sandwich was like a Gyro sandwich. It was good but we ate so much I could not finish it. I don't remember the last time that happened and we shared everything.

For a suburban, non-Wayzata Restaurant it's probably in our top five.. its a nice place with great food. A bit pricey but you know that going in.

Our bill was $127 and we could not finish it all. For those that don't drink our 3 wines was 1/3 or $42 dropping it to the $80s.

Will we be back? Baldamar in a good restaurant especially for the burbs. For a few hundred of our restaurants and other reviews go to ToDoTC.com
