We are at a Ritzy Bar in Mpls below the Bachelor Farmer Restaurant, which is owned by the Governors sons. Lacking reservations we had to go to the super secret Marvel Bar below. One of those bars you need to know what door to open and then open the purple door, no signs. One of the people in our wine club told us about it. Incidentally he has been nominated by the Governor to be a judge on the MN State Court of Appeals, who'd a figure he'd drink with us, hey we have a fun wine club, but I digress.

So anyway I went to the bathroom, cause it's a strange obsession I picked up a few years ago, and I found the bizarre installation of SPLASH GUARDS so guys don't pee on their shoes. I asked the bartender after 21 years, "Would not one learn NOT to PEE on ones shoes?" Which left the bartender a bit dumb founded.

Tonight's search for great TC Restaurants takes us to Bachelor Farmer. This is own & ran by the sons of Former MN Governor Mark Dayton. On the list of top TC restaurants this place always makes the elite list. Summer time they grow their own herbs on the roof and are best know for their Fresh local Farm to plate fresh menu.

We came here once a few years ago but since we never do reservations we waited 30 minutes and left without getting in. Tonight we shared a Romain Salad, popovers, a walleye and tiny potatoes. Wine was good and a good pour at about $25/glass. All the food was good with a good presentation. The bill is about double what we normally pay but it's a special place. We chose it tonight because with all the snow we were correct that we could get a table.

It's a nice place with good food and atmosphere, but all things considered I don't think it broke into our top ten.
