When the Twin Cities locals talk about THE Art Fair, they mean the Uptown Art Fair. The Oldest and largest in the Midwest. The first weeken in August is actually Art Fair weekend for the Twin Cities. Around Powderhown Park about two miles away from the Uptown Art Fair centered on Hennepin & Lake Streets in Mpls, is another egually as good art fair with mostly local artists called the Powderhorn art fair. Powderhorn has the more reasonably priced art but the Uptown Art Fair should not be missed. It is recognized as one of THE National Art Fairs.
If you come to town for both or either remember to get your restraurant reservations weeks in advance for restaurants are full nights. Uptown is a three day show and Powderhorn just Saturday & Sunday. Both start about 10 AM and close down at 6-7 PM. Expect huge crowdsm great people watching and great art. Both are of course free.
