Tonight we are at Heather a Hole in the wall restaurant by Chicago and the Minnehaha Creek near the airport. We had E&I have been in the metro 40+ years and though we travel in wine and food circles have never heard of Heathers.

Heathers is one of those places no one goes to because you can't get a seat. We did our normal 6:15 tasting at North Loop Wine & Spirits and fifteen minutes after we were done downtown we are here.

We are not that far from were "the Event" happened and yet we feel very safe.

Heather is full of 45 plus people. But at the reasonable menu & wine prices we know not why.

The Red wine list only had four wines but they have a Cab for E, a Noir for me but tonight I'm drinking and Argentina Malbec blend. Both wines under $15 served in some amazing glasses. And yes a great poor.

The menu is the typical farm to table type. We started with Calamari. We have never had red peppers with calamari until tonight, they were INCREDIBLE! They also included a few lemon slices, also great.

Then we went to an interesting Salmon & pair salad and finished with a Teriyaki Salmon bowl.

For people that say they they can not afford great unusual food… nothing we ordered was over $20.

Our total bill including three courses & two nice wine pours was $84
