Despite its dressed-up look, this Suburban Minneapolis destination has a personality that's a little bit playful - focused on exceptional food and hospitality, but never taking itself too seriously.
Bacio aspires to high standards, celebrating fresh food, with influences from Italy and the Mediteranean, to Asia and beyond. Bacio offers a menu that balances customer favorites, seasonal items and occasional surprises. Inspired by locally sourced food and original recipes made from scratch, Bacio is authentic and approachable, feeding customers' increasing desire to experience, learn and discover.
To dine at Bacio it as if you have been lifted from the Twin Cities into an Italian Restaurant complete with all the smells, views and architecture for the evening.
Other than waiting to the EXACT TIME of our 6:30 reservation it was a delightful evening.
As always once seated we start with the wines. E had a Franciscan Cab Sav from WA and I had an Argentinian Malbec for $9.50 a glass reasonably priced.
For our appetizer we ordered Parmesan encrusted Shrimp. They were phenomenal very flaky. Jenny our waitress told us they are flown in a couple times a week from of all places INDONESIA!
Our next course was a wedge salad. For our Christmas meal Angela our daughter in law introduced us to a WEDGE SALAD I just said ok that's fine. So tonight I wasn't surprised when it was on the menu it was fresh & crunchy & flavorful.
We go to 40 new restaurants a year and don't always know what we are ordering. That's how we found out Sweet Bread is neither SWEET nor BREAD. Anyway tonight we ordered a Magherita Bread. Turns out it looks & tastes like a pizza.
Finally we finished with the go to meal we alway do at Italian restaurants: Fettuccine Alfredo with the same fresh Indonesian Shrimp we had earlier finished with Parmesan-Reggiano cheese which is more earthy than regular Parmesan.
The bill was $118 without any extra staff charges which pleased us.
Would we come back? Of course this and BLVD Wine Bar just up the road will be a future place to meet our Wayzata friends.
Thanks to all at Bacio for a great dining experience.
